I have an 86 6.2 Chevy diesel 3/4 ton truck and I would like to replace the old 6.2 with a 12 valve cummins turbo diesel. the tranny and transfer case may be the hardest part to make fit, but I'm not sure how it will all come together. Does anyone have any ideas or tips?

Look up BlackCloud85Chevy(BlackCloud) on here. He has a Cummins in his Chevy. He will be able to steer yoou in the right direction.

Blackcould is also running a 727 tranny,, But if your wanting to run the chevy tranny, give advanced adapters a call.. They can hook you up

Ohh well that should be fairly easy then.. Might have to make a cross member, and some motor mounts..

Thanks but I haven't found the motor yet, I was just wondering what all I would get into with this swap. When I find one I will give you a call and find out more. Why did he need a ford front end though?

Your best bet in my opinion is to go on Pirate4x4.com and search search search. There a number of guys that have done this on there. If you have questions that seems like something that could be easily answered ask it in the newb section.

That place has hands down the best knowledge you'll get so don't screw it up Wink

They are pretty ruthless and like to name call so w/e you do DON'T play into their trap. That's all the help I can give ya at the moment. If you give me a bit I can search and maybe find what you are looking for and find a few threads. I have some saved somewhere cause I plan this someday

Good luck and may god have mercy on your soul if you join there Laughing
